Welcome to the Beta tester's guild! If you are a beta tester and have an experience of beta testing of at least one RPG game, then you are cordially invited to submit your open resumes(without your personal contact info) here. You must mention your experience, terms of acceptance, time period you can offer for beta testing, and any such information that can help developers.Developers looking for testers can contact you via pm.Remuneration and other term and conditions can be discussed through private messages between the developer and the tester. However testers may also need to keep in mind that since you are getting to play a brand new game well in advance of others through beta testing, most developers might not offer any remuneration, while some may do.So if you expect any, please communicate with the developer who contacts you.
Additionally, in order to encourage more beta testers to pool in their resumes in the same place(which would also help developers to find them easily)game developers are requested to leave a comment at the tester's resume topic whom he/she had chosen as to how well it went and whether he found the forum helpful enough.Testers are encouraged to refer their friends experienced in the relevant field. We shall open the guild to newbies once the guild has gained enough responses from both testers and developers.
P.S: We don't charge anything if developers hire our pool of testers(it's absolutely free),but individual testers may have their own preferences. You should PM them to know more.
Wish you all the best!

Re: Information about Beta testers
I used to test beta versions of analysis software, but beta testing RPG's are so much fun! I've tested 3 games, and another one is now on its way. I also tried to make my own mini games with RPGMaker XP and believe that experience enables me to be more helpful for the developers. Let me know if I can be of any help

Age: 30+
Day Job: Editor (fiction, non-fiction, scientific)
So far I've only beta'd Dawn's Light, A Christmas Tale, but thought is was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. As a free-lancer working from home, I can plan my days as I like so will find it easy to find time to beta games within the developer's time frame. Other than beta testing, I'd be more than happy to help developers whose first language isn't English with their dialogue and other text based content, and developers whose first language IS English with making sure all their T's are crossed and I's are dotted. I would also be happy to use my experience as a fiction editor to look at the plots and storylines of the games from a character development or continuity point of view, if requested.

Age: 30+
Day Job: In between at the moment
Have not formally beta tested any RPG yet, however have been an RPG fan for a very long time since Final Fantasy, A Bards Tale, Wizardry, SSI Forgotten Realms series, etc. Have not been able to enjoy the shift to 3D perspective due to motion sickness and that's why I still prefer turn-based RPG.
Formal Software QA experience with my previous employer of a well known Graphics company and managed D3D/OpenGL testing of popular titles. Have followed SDLC from Project Scope to Production phases and have a strong ability to understand all sides of a project from Project Management, Development, QA and Customer Support. Can interface between logical technical details and more abstract concepts that can help projects from having a disconnect between the two. Also, have filled out more Engineering Problem Reports using the Action Remedy System (ARS) then I'd care to remember which should eliminate many of the back and forth communication between testers and developers where issues may crop up.
Currently, I am between commitments and responsibilities, but with enough notice and planning I could probably allocate at minimum 1-2 hours per day.

I am a little boy.I am testing UW:ML now.Well this is my first beta test.I don't have much to say though. I loved beta testing at first.Finding errors and telling them to game maker is fun.
What I don't like about beta testing is you always have to download. And it takes HOURS!

Name:dgfurman
Age:40+
Job:optometrist, SAHM currently
Place:currently in S. America, will be moving back to the US by 3/10
I have been doing some work as a beta tester for several years now. The biggest projects I have worked on were for "The Man" of Streamline Games, on:
Tales of A'ailogas: Under
Tales of A'ailogas: Black
Lurking Under Life
You can check these games out on http://www.rpgrevolution.com/forums/ind ... owforum=65, which will get you right to the Streamline Games forum, on the RPG Revolution website.
I am not a developer, designer, or mapper, but I have played just about every RPG out there (freeware and not), and know what makes a good game, and what problems games have. And I am an incredible speller, and will catch any grammatical errors there are.
Most of all, I love to beta test, and help make good games better!
