Is there a walkthrough for VG2?

I just started the game and already having a problem with losing character (with crests attached to them). How can I know who to give one crest to? Also with only 4 save slots, it is hard to save at each new area (before and after each area).

This was a problem with Vagrant Hearts one also. What I did was I used to save the game after every battle so that I can reload it from that point and unequip the crests before I lose any character because the game usually had a pattern of changing parties after long dialogues or a battle.

Is there always going to be certain people on Scarlett's and Beatrice's team. Is there a list of people that are transient characters?

I can't say about VG 2 but party members were swapped in VG 1 so there isn't any pattern. I would recommend unequiping crests and equipments right after major boss battles and save so that you can equip those on the other characters.
