Dawn's Light-Reflections after playing the game

:wel: Welcome to the reviews of Dawn's Light! In one word, this game is neat, well organized and polished and has the best of all RPG games I’ve played so far.Except for some minor bits and pieces in the way the story proceeds, the entire game has been well planned and is worth the money.Though there isn’t any mouse control for game play, there is a very user friendly tutorial at the beginning to help amateur and expert players alike. The sprites could have been made a bit more of a standard size(like in RPGmaker XP). But that is covered up by the fact that every NPC i.e. non principle character, has a face that shows up during conversation(must have been very tedious for the developer to do it for every NPC).Also when there is a conversation between principle characters, their images are displayed till their busts. When collecting new items, there is a small animation to it.Items collection is more specific and secret paths are not left to our fancies as they are well denoted by something or the other.Thats why, finding out important items doesn’t seem frustrating. One doesn’t need to waste time by clicking on every wall, stone or fence to discover something and yet every time these items are not available easily to make us lose the interest.Characters have sufficient HP to begin with, so fighting foes doesn’t call for frequent healing thus saving money for buying items. Also there’s a good loot to retrieve at every dungeon so you need not waste money buying restorative items. The best thing is that there are no random encounters and enemies once dead, don’t re-spawn.
There are a gamut of save points scattered all over to guard the risk of running into enemies unprepared. But there are only four save slots, which is a big let down. The story is also not bad.But I guess the way the NPCs lead away with information to strangers who also behaves badly is something too easy to believe(Harvey asks the guard or someone else for information rudely and they do give it away, something which doesn't happen in real life). What's surprising is that if you press the shift key while walking, your characters are slowed down(unlike in other RPGmakerVX games). But these drawbacks are made up by other exciting things like new abilities to learn, atlas viewing options, statues rendering important skills to characters, mails, fishes and a variety of other discoverable items to be found. These fill up the lack of side quests in the game as we can start collecting these to find them all. Also you can view the world map from the menu, change skin color of the window and get access to newer areas by maps.Travelling crystals, puzzles, jumping through holes as shortcuts, decrypting letters, etc add to the attraction of this game. While abruptly concluding I would like to say what I began with, the games is really good to play considering the hours of game play and interesting things you can discover in it.
